I decided to consult everyone else here to get your opinions on this matter (not to be confused with "seeing new people").

Harryjacklewis got away with some serious griefing. It's over 700 blocks total, and it's basically all just pure carnage to this area:

But then Sam told me to try out "/t Harrysville:"

Any thoughts?

As I'm understanding this, this was his own town?

It's griefing nonetheless, but I'd warn him if it was his town and let him know that griefing isn't allowed, not even in your own town. It does seem like that.

I agree.

When I saw the first pic and harrys castle in the back. I saw it was his town. For some reason mayors think because its their town they can do what they want of other players builds.  But it is not the case.

This is a "reoccuring" problem on the server.

So helping them be the "fence at the top of the cliff"  Heres what I sometimes do.

The ambulance at the bottom of the cliff situation.
When a player has left belongings on the plot and the mayor wants them removed.

Have the mayor send a /mail or message on forums requesting the belongings to be removed within a time frame.

Player comes back, reads message, removes stuff, everyone is happy.

Player does not come back to read the mail or messages sent after reasonable given time, player seeks permission from someone who can break the locked furnace, sign, chest, hopper. Locked things.  Either stores them for owner or does what he/she wishes too.
________________________________________________

So it dos not happen again..... Here is the "fence at the top of the cliff"
Town Staff obtaining permission from residents before they join the town.

1.  New residents give permission to remove belongings if the Town Staff see they have not completed their first home within a time frame(1 week),(or whatever reasons they generally have problems with resident belongings)

Obtaining proof by
- Placing a sign on a board marking their agreement. Showing mods the agreement and the sign they placed in agreement of the conditions
.
- Typing they agree to the conditions in the chat and taking a screenshot of the agreement for evidence to show on forums the agreement.

- Or reading the conditions for residency in a book and signing it, giving back to the mayor when signed.  Showing mods the book, showing they have permission.

Just ideas.... but can save alot of real time "grief"  in the real sense of the word.

Very nice ideas Sun. :)

But imo it should be sufficient to write on the town board something like this:

"By building in this town you agree to let the town staff do whatever they want with your building, pets, cattle, materials and other resources stored on the town's land."

Ive started using the books. It seems to be going well -- long as a player knows how to sign it lol Had that problem last night-- only minor though.
