    The time has come for us to take a look at our servers and get an idea of what everyone else thinks of them. Can we make these servers better? Help and tell us what you think!

    Our Servers
    • CraftBlock! /main
      A few weeks ago we recently reset our one-year old map, as well as put in place a spawn we've spent over 6 months building. A lot of big changes, custom generated map, a better, stable economy (well, you're not seeing thousands being thrown across the server anymore) and much more. We've seen happier players, and a lot more activity. But can we improve?
    • AeroBlock /skyblock
      HollyBeth's server! It's been pretty quiet cause Holly's been away but we're prepare to make changes AND make it better if any one can suggest anything. I think we can improve a lot here, if players can tell us how!
    • CraftGames /games
      NintendoFrosty's server. I've seen A LOT of activty here lately. Players love TTT and the other games! Can we make it better though? What do you think?
    • CraftHarder /hardcore
      Asa's server. Not a lot of activity here. Can we make it better? What would attract you more for a hardcore server?
    • Crusade /factions
      Beaver's server. Again, I don't see much activity here. Can we improve it?
    • Prison /prison
      Prison was a lot more active when we bought it over from Exotros. But it's lowered quite a bit. How can we improve it? The jail system we put wasn't perfect, so I'm sure there is a lot we can work on to help. What do you guys think?

    Looking at this list, it' makes me proud we've grown so much, when only a year ago we weren't so big. Now players have choices, they're not stuck on just CB to play with their friends, and they don't have to go on other networks, cause all of the fun is here. That was my goal and I'm super happy we've met it.

    Now, can we improve our servers? Help us, please! You can tell us how dumb X is, or how stupid Y is, tell us how we can improve Z. Should we remove this plugin, or add that plugin, or modify THAT plugin? Help us! Post here and give us some feedback!

    I really only have feedback for Craftblock, but I agree with ItsKittyyy, Faction Mobs would make Crusade more compelling. If you find a faction now, if it's claimed, there's not much you can do.
    Now my feedback for Craftblock, I think the new economy and shop prices are horrible. The shop's prices basically set how much an item/block is worth for the entire server, and I think all the prices are atrocious. All the shop's prices seem completely random and make no sense. Right now, one saddle is worth more than an emerald, diamond, gold ingot, iron ingot, lapis lazuli and quartz all together. Those should all be valuable items and there worth nothing. I get you want a poor economy so players don't get too much money and use player shops more, but player shops, like Aquaridge's shop, can only compete with shop by setting their prices at shop's sell prices. If it's not cheaper, why go there over shop? Shop is much more convenient and you already know what you want is there. I think all the prices should be reset and based off a Minecraft economic guide where someone already calculated the price of items/blocks based on each items rarity and the amount of effort, time and resources needed to collect a whole stack exactly to get the buy prices. Then use something logical and calculated to get the sell prices, like 20 or 30 percent less than the buy price for the sell price. I think a method like this would bring the server a better, stronger, and more enjoyable economy while setting better prices so you don't end up with items/blocks that cost $30 to buy, but only sell for $3.

    I've also noticed a common theme in responses to feedback, "stop whining and get over it." Not the most friendliest way to run a server. Including adding the plugins I've previously recommended, Silkspawner and neoPaintingSwitch, I think these changes would be positive improvements for the server.

    Donations suggestion: Baron (FREE) vs. Donor ranks ($)

    Baron:
    Artisan commands
    Access to up to 35 set homes
    Access to the /kit baron kit <- Champ doesn't have this
    /fly - the ability to toggle fly on and off <- Champ doesn't have this
    /ptime - set the time of day for only the player <- All donors don't have this
    /thru - pass through one wall at a time <- Champ doesn't have this

    Champ perms (1 added pro, 1 con):
    Artisan commands. <- Baron has this
    /bal playername - Check a player's balance. <- Hover over someone's name
    Ability to set up to 30 homes. <- Baron has more homes
    Ability to join the server when full. <- The server is never full
    No /ptime <- Baron has this
    Ability to use colored chat. <- The only benefit

    Spartan (4 added pros, 1 con):
    /fly - Fly. <- Baron has this
    /thru - Teleport through walls. <- Baron has this
    /ci - Clear your inventory. <- Benefit

    Why would someone donate for Champ if they have to spend $10 more just to get a few Baron perms (plus /heal, /ci and /god)? Elite would be the only rank people would normally even think about donating for by now (yet it still doesn't have all of the Baron commands), and not everyone has $35 (more than a minecraft account).

    If more benefits are added to Champ and Spartan, some people (including myself) may consider donating.

    They had this on a similar server that I used to play on that was closed, but everyone enjoyed it.

    Posting a thread explaining your thoughts is a lot better then saying it on the server. I can really digest what you're saying here and start thinking how we can improve it. Thank you.

    I'll take a look that pricing link you've sent and figure it out.

    The true goal for our economy was just to not make it so damn boring like it was before. We couldn't do anything with it because everyone was rich! It was a true annoying system and that's why I been trying to play with a smaller economy here.

    I also agree with your post about how we're replying to feedback. We should definitely set a friendlier tone and I'll talk to staff so we can start trying.

    THANK YOU! Not many will suggest changes or what's wrong with our donor system, I am super thankful you took your time to post this.

    So the idea for Champion is so that survival players can donate for a rank without having creative perk, such as fly. I'd like to stay true to that, but also improve the rank more so more players are interested in buying it. At the moment I'm working on giving it a lot of cosmetic perks, like pets and trails.

    Would you like to see other perks added to these ranks?

    May be a little late, but this hasn't been closed yet so I'll give a little input.

    I personally despise autoranking. It removes so much of the interaction between the staff and the community. All new players have to do to rankup is do a few requirements (some of which are rather silly, like gathering mushrooms.) How can this prove that a player is a trustworthy member of our community? It doesn't.

    From a Moderator view, I didn't mind promoting Blocklings (Dwellers) whenever they built a house. I enjoyed it. I got to personally meet and greet almost everyone who joined the server. It helped knit this community together. Adding autoranking also takes much of the purpose away from having an Ambassador rank - one of their main duties was to promote Blocklings (Dwellers). I'm sure that some of the Mods also agree that they miss promoting Blocklings. It was unique to us, and now it's been replaced with something less unique & fun. It's also attributed to a lower amount of activity on the forum. People have little to no reason to signup and browse the forum now. It's rather dead. (MyBB > Xenforno, btw)

    And from a standpoint of an older player, I don't understand the purpose of the new ranks. I get it, you wanted to change from Buildworx, but it wasn't necessary. What exactly is the point of Settler, Merchant, Apprentice, etc? I see none.

    Just my $0.02 on the matter.

    I don't really see the point in labelling someone "trustworthy" when it comes to the survival ranks. Survival ranks have literally nothing to do with anything requiring trust. Now if you could auto rank into a position like Ambassador or Mod, then there'd be issues.

    I agree with you that the auto ranking is silly, but it does have its perks. The biggest perk that comes with the auto ranking system is it allows players whom are not allowed by parents (yes, CB's population overall has gotten a lot younger) to sign up and use forums or other sites to rank up instead of being stuck on the second rank. Personally, I'd like to have the first requirement of a house being built and checked by a moderator or ambassador reintroduced to rebuild that relationship between staff and players. I also have already made the proposal to drop the Ambassador rank if the initial requirement of building a house isn't reintroduced.

    The new ranks weren't to move away from Buildworx, it was mainly to give some more depth to our ranking structure and give players more things to progress towards. Under the old structure you got to, I believe, trusted and for the vast major, that was the end of that. obviously the new ranks need work and that should be happening soon I believe, however the main issue of goals to reach to provide players something to do other than 'Minecraft', has been tapped into.

    Sorry if this is a bit late, but first of all, i agree with both backstreet and kitty. We should probably add in HorseTpWithMe and the donor ranks need a re-thinking. Maybe either a few more perks for the lower priced donor ranks or more perks for the higher priced ranks to get more people to buy the higher ranks. I'm not sure what sort of stuff, but maybe really limited access to WE for Elite (although I know you aren't trustworthy enough to use it without an app but maybe basic WE commands that won't cause too much lag) such as //naturalize and creating melon/pumpkin patches. Maybe royal to have voxel sniper. Also, all the donor ranks should have their own kits such as champ or spartan having best op vanilla gear and elite maybe having higher /enchant'ed gear? Even having a kit with a bit of in-game money or loot crate keys would be better to help get more people to buy donor ranks and in turn giving you more money to make the server a better place. If anyone has anything to add please reply and i can edit it in (with credit).

    EDIT: As well as that, I have been looking through the dark old corners of the forums and found a post about lasers and capes. It would be great to add them in as well as being able to use the cosmetics that are already in place. Also, maybe donor ranks could have extra commands such as /enchant (with rules and guidelines) and /v (also with rules and guidelines)

    I'm sure Elite has access to /enchant already, doesn't it?

    Lasers bypassed protections from memory and capes were horrible for anyone with ping higher than about 50 as they weren't actually capes but entities that tried to keep up with the players movements.

    /enchant is an added command, but I can't even use it. I'm both an Elite and a Moderator, but it says I don't have access to it.

    @asacavanagh There's individual permissions per enchant, if I remember correctly.

    It doesn't. I have royal and I can't so elite doesn't. I don't have permissions for the enchants themselves not /enchant.

    I've enabled zhorse on the survivalworld now, if you tame a horse you can now use /zh claim to claim the horse and add it to your /zh list. You can also use /zh here to teleport a horse to you, or teleport to a horse (/zh tp). Claimed horses will be protected from several forms of damage, except suffocation (I think), falling damage and the owner can also damage them. others can't.
